Job hunting, probably the worst hunting game ever. Throwing yourself before people in an attempt to be liked… It’s almost like being in year 6, and you’re trying to be friends with someone because they’ve got chips in their lunchbox. Sure, they may of beat you up in the past, but they have snacks, and you don’t!

Adrenalin pumps for the first minute of the interview, you talk 87387 miles an hour, and at the end, you leave feeling like you just got laid. Had a good interview Wednesday week, still waiting to hear from them, in the meantime tho, time to read the Saturday adverts in the newspaper!

Well, figured out that I’ve done everything the hard way once again

I overlooked XML-RPC when making the XML data exchanges for Onevillage and its CRM and user servers. Basically reinventing the wheel. If you ever need to get content moved and executed remotely, I suggest looking into XML-RPC, and saving yourself from writing up XML master and slave functions.

Found a pretty good introductory crash course on it, all makes 100% sense. Check it!! I just can’t believe I overlooked this before. Gotta keep up to date!

I remember hearing something about XML-RPC before I started my bridges, but thought it would be a waste of time to learn it as what I had to do was quite straight forward. Server sends command over XML to slave, slave interprets it, and executes function… Which is EXACTLY what XML-RPC does, just probably more efficiently BEH!

Well, reasons for not posting are prettymuch down to the fact that I’ve been damn busy working on the website upgrade and corporate identity for the people I work for, and now that the website is live, I guess i can show stuff on here!

Finally got this site pumped out, was working on it over most of the Christmas break, and up until now, it’s an integration project of basically what is available to me at the moment. Right now, its running on a Joomla backend, with a Virtuemart shop, and all hooked up to a vTiger crm. It was a bit of a pain in the arse mapping the vtiger and virtuemart table structure, to get all the data to sync properly, but now.. it works!

If you wanna check the site out, head on over to the now live onevillage.com.au and yeah… have a look! plans to upgrade to a multilingual worldwide framework are being discussed, but the backend will hopefully change completly by then. Joomla is a good program for single sites, but its lacking ACL kinda pisses me off, the only way to fix it, hacks at the programs core functionality, and breaks most 3rd party addons.

For now tho, the site works, and I’m happy with how everything looks. I tried to make a website that was feature rich, and not shit to use.

Sleeping in your car, if not in an underground carpark, makes you wake up covered in sweat.

Well, I stopped playing for about 2 weeks, and found that I was sleeping better, waking up not feeling hungover in the middle of the week, and spurts of creativity derived from doing things other than playing video games were starting to return. The character Sonuku on Blackrock servers was alot of fun to play, and hanging out with my guild Indoor Kids was great fun.

But alas, all good things come to an end, and workload stopped me playing. The account, after not being played for two weeks is now out of game time, and is basically just sitting there null, doing nothing. I’ll probably end up giving it to the guild or just someone completly random, but I don’t think I could sell it. Morally the time and effort put into this fictional thing, requires some sort of burial at sea.

For any guildies that read this, probably the only goodbye I can give is… It’s Lob’s fault, always is, always will be.

I might play again one day. Probably once things have calmed down with my working hours and I can relax a little. In the meantime, morsels of Counter-Strike: Source and a little Gunbound are keeping me sane.

So emo it hurts, so i’ve decided to make my website into a blog of sorts… All i need is some black hair dye and a guitar The basic theory behind it tho is to just post crap from when I’m overseas.

As most of my friends already know, September 23 I’ll be jetting off to Thailand to do an induction course, and then get posted overseas for around 3 years, doing what I do best… Which is something, but hey, I’m getting paid a good amount of money, to make websites in foreign countries! Who could complain?!

In the coming weeks, I’ll go and get myself a camera phone, and (hopefully not losing it) will take some photos and videos and post them on here.

The old website is still available, if you want to see my “ye olde” portfolio, but it’s like… 3 years old, never updated, so… yeah don’t give me crap about it!
