I am 8bit

April 29th, 2007

Stumbled across a video talking about a link talking about an art exhibition in LA… Damn I wish I could just pack up and afford a trip to LA from Australia :( But anyway, here is an example of the gallery:

Pretty win, its like yeah… 8 bit art, check it out!

Cardboard dreamer

April 20th, 2007

I had a vision, that people could wear cardboard boxes as a battlesuit, and be socially acceptable. On Friday 13th, we had a “fancy dress” party at Lyle and Dans house :P My original outfit was something like a bad hat and a bathrobe, but Lyles girlfeidn fucking stole my idea! AND she had a toy gollywog to match.

Screwed if I’m going to be outdone! So I raided their garage, found some cardboard, and made myself a 1980s realistic robot suit, complete with emotions and nipples.

OOOOO yeah!
I also sorted out that gollywog doll, noosed!

So anyway, playing pool / dancing in a bar at 2am dressed as a robot, while people around you are dressed up as gangsters and ninjas and samurai, is pretty damn entertaining~! There is more photos out there probably, but they are hard to track down. Camera phones blur alot at night, and people just deleted them :(

Hat of fortune

April 12th, 2007

Ok! So… I have canceled my subscription to World of Warcraft, and am now giving it away. I doubt I could sell the fucker.

Its got:
Level 70 Tauren Warrior
Spec: Mortal Strike
Gear: PVP Gear -ONLY-
Gold: None
Reputation: Emo
Guild: Might be guild leader of Indoor Kids still.

Its Khaz keyed and everything, has zero gold, zero tanking gear, nothing left to sell on it, it’s basically a shell pvp warrior, you could raid with it I guess, but I can’t be fucked paying for it, playing it, or fucking around with guilds.

If you would like this account, reply with an email address, character name in-game, and guild.

I’ll put the names in a hat, and pull it out on webcam on Monday 16th.

11 meters…

March 12th, 2007

My family decided it was time for a change, time to pack up the house and move to new surroundings, see the world, meet new people, that kind of stuff… Well… We moved house… 11 meters, to the house literally behind our house… MASSIVE MOVE!

I am now sitting in my new “study/office” and occupy the entire eastern side of the new house, it’s pretty big compared to our last place, but it has some downfalls. For starters, when you move house (11 meters), and keep your old phone number, nomatter how fkn simple it might seem for my internet provided to just go “ok, move”, it’s apparently the biggest deal of the fucking century, fire and brimstone falling from the sky, people dying, children screaming, tears of blood, that kind of shit.

Been a bit busy

February 18th, 2007

Well, reasons for not posting are prettymuch down to the fact that I’ve been damn busy working on the website upgrade and corporate identity for the people I work for, and now that the website is live, I guess i can show stuff on here!

Finally got this site pumped out, was working on it over most of the Christmas break, and up until now, it’s an integration project of basically what is available to me at the moment. Right now, its running on a Joomla backend, with a Virtuemart shop, and all hooked up to a vTiger crm. It was a bit of a pain in the arse mapping the vtiger and virtuemart table structure, to get all the data to sync properly, but now.. it works!

If you wanna check the site out, head on over to the now live onevillage.com.au and yeah… have a look! plans to upgrade to a multilingual worldwide framework are being discussed, but the backend will hopefully change completly by then. Joomla is a good program for single sites, but its lacking ACL kinda pisses me off, the only way to fix it, hacks at the programs core functionality, and breaks most 3rd party addons.

For now tho, the site works, and I’m happy with how everything looks. I tried to make a website that was feature rich, and not shit to use.

Much love for the scriptaculous framework, and xajax library.

Not really an update

November 8th, 2006

Haven’t written on this piece of shit for like a couple of weeks now, so I figure I’d just start typing and explaining stuff about things and other stuff thats happened. OK, so, fading back into the hazy alcohol effected visions that my brain can summon…

Oktoberfest. Group of abouit 8 of us went to the racecource wher ethe Oktoberfest was being held at around midday… Turns out we got well drunk and fat on various foods, and I’ve decided to buy myself a Scottish flag… Pretty awesome time singing and making dorks out of ourself, but eventually the sun went to sleep, and the bogans came out to play…

Now, I’m not usually phased by “other” drunk people, but at Oktoberfest, I have never had a good expierience after about 7pm… People just get violent when it gets dark. So we hopped a taxi into the city. Dan and I still wearing flags on our backs, and me with some stupid glowing cowboy hat thing… Yeah… Don’t ask.

After getting quickly thrown out of the bar for wearing said flag, it turned into a usual city night, nothing amazing, excpet I forgot how much money I had on me, and ended up walking home… Which took about 3 hours.

My computer monitor (22″ CRT) decided to fuck out on me, and now has next to zero contrast. Fail and lose. Only have 2 monitors left :( Oh, and no real news updates on when I’m finally going to get overseas, turns out there is some issues surrounding banks and the Venture Capital group, and they won’t release funding until it’s resolved, so basically, I’m getting paid to sit on my hands at the moment.

Aside from all that, life has been pretty uneventful, going to see the PM’s XI cricket team on Friday. That should be awesome. Will probably have some photos or something to share on Saturday.

Serb Superstars

Pretty quick entry here,
Last night Lyle and I were walking from Civic Pub to get a kabab, and decided on the way to take a detour to the skatepark to take a look at the grafitti. Turns out after the skatepark, we had no fkn idea how to get back to the kabab store >_< After walking around for about 2 minutes, we can see the road we needed to be on, but there was a construction site that lengths for about 4 blocks in the way.

Yarrrrrgh

September 28th, 2006

Aha, so Thursday turned into it’s usual hanging around in a bar talking shit and listening to people on guitars. Well, in a flash of inspiration, I saw a newspaper, and decided to make some pirate hats for Myself and Lyle… About 2 minutes of jealous onlookers, at how kicking radical we were in our hats, basically everyone except one jerk who was playing the “I’m too cool for you pirate hat” angle, to impress his girlfriend, who was probably talking to us more than him. People started to come up to us and ask for hats… Wtf I thought. Sharing is caring.
ANYWAY! Photos.

Photos removed, can’t be screwed re-uploading via wordpress. Check them in dump.

Was quite entertaining when everyone is wearing your creation, and the guy playing guitar on stage is yelling at you via the microphone, because he wants a hat. Ahahhah. By the end of the night, my hands were covered in newspaper ink, and I had made about 10 new friends.
